Anatomy
Our state-of-the-art anatomy facilities, licenced under the Human Tissue Act (2004), are used by over 1,500 undergraduate students every year studying a diverse range of courses, including Medicine, Dentistry, Physician Associate Studies and Biosciences.
Dissection and the use of prosections form the foundation of our teaching along with imaging, models and cutting-edge technologies. The University remains one of the few institutions that invest in teaching anatomy through the generosity of body donors.
Our strong links with the local community enables students to benefit from an established and sound teaching method used to train the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals.
Clinical Teaching Fellows, who are registered with the General Medical Council, work together with a dedicated team of anatomy academics, technical staff and bequeathals administrators to deliver teaching excellence in anatomy.
Both undergraduate and postgraduate students benefit from contemporary clinical anatomy teaching through our close collaboration with the Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre.
