Courses for Dalian University of Technology students

We are delighted to offer students from the School of Life and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Dalian University of Technology the opportunity to study on the final year of a BSc degree with a view to progressing onto a 1-year MSc degree in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at Manchester.

You will spend your first three years at Dalian University of Technology before completing your final year of study in Manchester. Subject to meeting standard course entry requirements, you will then progress onto a 1-year MSc degree after completion of the BSc.

Undergraduate courses

After completing the third year of their degree at DUT, students meeting the entry requirements will be able to enter the final year of any of the following degree programmes at Manchester. 

MSc courses

Subject to achieving a minimum of 60% in all modules undertaken at Manchester and meeting any additional course specific standard entry requirements, applicants may progress onto any of the following 1-year MSc courses.

Entry requirements

Entrance onto the BSc

You will need to obtain an average of 80% in the core modules in Year 1, 2 and the first semester of Year 3 of Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China and you should also have one of the following:

  • an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component;
  • an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher in each element for entry via the six-week pre-sessional English course offered by the University Language Centre; or
  • an equivalent English language qualification recognised by The University of Manchester.

Progression onto an MSc

You must achieve a minimum of 60% in all modules studied at Manchester, as well as meeting any additional course-specific requirements for the MSc. Your English language qualification must also remain valid for the start date of the MSc.

How to apply

You should apply via UCAS and select 3 as your point of entry. We will contact you via email to provide you with a detailed list of the documents we require for your application.

You will be required to send scanned copies of your up-to-date academic transcript and English language certificate to ug.biosciences@manchester.ac.uk. You will receive acknowledgement emails from UCAS and The University of Manchester.

You will be interviewed by a member of staff from Manchester. This may be via Skype or a representative in your country. If successful, you will receive an offer through UCAS.

Finally, you will be contacted again by the University once it is time to select the units you would like to study on your course with us.

At this point, you will also be sent detailed information about settling in, accommodation and the support available to you here in Manchester. 

If you are eligible to progress onto a 1-year MSc, you will need to apply via our standard route, by submitting our online application form.
