Manchester Health and Care Trials Unit

Providing the expertise you need for your trials to run smoothly

In an increasingly complex environment for the development and delivery of clinical trials, we’ll provide the expertise you need for your trials to run smoothly.

We‘ll support you by designing, centrally coordinating and analysing multi-centre trials of interventions in health and care settings.

Our new trials unit is currently in set-up, but we’ll soon be seeking collaborations from researchers in applied health fields researching complex interventions. Get in touch at the earliest stage of your study design to find out how we can support you.

We're not yet resourced to undertake trials of investigational medicinal products or medical devices.

What to expect

How we’ll support your trial

We’ll collaborate with you to conduct high-quality, multi-centre research that leads to individual and societal benefit.

From an early stage, our collaboration with you is an essential part of an application for funding and completing a trial.

We have an ethos of working collegially and constructively to develop exciting, rigorous and impactful research.

  • study design;
  • statistics and health economics;
  • protocol development;
  • trial management;
  • data management;
  • quality assurance.

Your requirements

Once you've contacted us, we'll explore and understand your needs. We'll provide support and guidance, liaise with the study sponsor, and develop an accurate costing of our work.

After funding is secured

Once funded, we'll manage the different aspects of your trial as agreed during the development of the applications. This may include randomisation, data management, analysis, monitoring, and output production.
