Dual-award with the University of Melbourne
We are keen to support the development of world-class researchers by establishing dual-award PhD programmes with international partners that will provide you with access to world-class facilities, expertise and field environments.
This dual-award programme between The University of Manchester and The University of Melbourne offers candidates the opportunity to apply for a project with a strong supervisory team in both Manchester and in Melbourne, leading to awards from both partner institutions.
PhD candidates will be registered at both Manchester and Melbourne and must complete all of the requirements of the PhD programme in both the home and partner university.
The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health has the following projects advertised as part of the dual-award programme:
- Professor Michael Harte – Investigating inflammatory and neuronal mechanisms driving cognitive dysfunction in mild traumatic brain injury (concussion)
- Professor Stuart Allan – Correlating brain and systemic inflammation with peripheral and central neurodegeneration in mice and humans
