Before your interview

Advance notice and rescheduling.

We will ensure that you are given plenty of notice about the interview and, if necessary, we will be happy to reschedule if the date/time is inconvenient.

Please note that the interview is an essential part of the application process. Those who fail to attend without prior explanation will have their application withdrawn.

During your interview

What to expect at your interview.

Interviews will be scheduled via Zoom and will be conducted one-to-one with an academic member of staff.

The interviews will be timetabled for 20 minutes. However, the interview itself should last no longer than 10-15 minutes, and the remaining time will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about the MSci Optometry course.

"There’s so much more to optometry than just the degree, and there’s always research going on and changes in medicine that you need to be aware of. So, I love the fact that this is a career path in which you never stop learning."
Suman Kashif, BSc Optometry.

After your interview

You'll hear from us soon.

While our aim is to inform applicants of our decision as soon as possible after the interview, there may be cases when our decision is delayed, and we need to wait until all interviews have been completed before we are able to update UCAS Track.

In this scenario, we will inform applicants of a potential delay and the timeline of when we expect to be able to confirm our decision. All decisions are based on the assessment of the interviewer.

Offer holder days

From spring 2025, we will be arranging on-campus visits to enable offer holders to meet our current students and staff, tour the Carys Bannister Building and University campus, and find out further information about the course.
