Advanced Practice Interventions in Mental Health (APIMH) (MSc)
Our MSc in Advanced Practice Interventions in Mental Health (APIMH) is a part-time multidisciplinary practice-focused course designed to equip you with the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to offer high quality support and evidence-based interventions in dementia, psychosis and primary care settings.
There are three pathways to choose from:
- Psychosocial Interventions for Psychosis (COPE) (MSc/PGDip)
- Primary Mental Health Care (MSc/PGDip)
- Dementia Care (MSc/PGDip)
Advanced Practice and Leadership (MSc)
Our MSc in Advanced Practice and Leadership offers those from nursing, midwifery, social work and allied health professional backgrounds an opportunity to engage in postgraduate education to deepen and enhance their practice in a range of different health and social care settings.
There are four pathways to choose from:
- Advanced Nursing Practice and Leadership MSc (for adult, child and mental health nurses);
- Advanced Midwifery Practice and Leadership MSc;
- Advanced Social Work Practice and Leadership MSc;
- Advanced Professional Practice and Leadership MSc (for all allied health professionals, including dieticians, audiologists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, paramedics and occupational therapists).
Clinical Research (MClin Res)
Our MClin Res in Clinical Research is ideal for health professionals from a range of backgrounds who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge in clinically focused research. It provides a good grounding for a career in research, or careers where research is a core component.
Health and Social Care (MRes HSC)
Our research-based master's course in Health and Social Care will equip you with in-depth knowledge and skills in a range of theoretical underpinnings and research methods relevant to applied research in various contemporary health and social care contexts.
Social Work (MA)
Our MA in Social Work is a two-year full-time postgraduate master's course leading to a professional social work qualification and eligibility to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Specialist Practice (Cancer) (MSc)
Our MSc in Specialist Practice (Cancer) is a partnership between The University of Manchester and The Christie School of Oncology aimed at nurses and other healthcare professionals. The course consists of a suite of taught generic professional skills and advanced clinical practice units that can be undertaken individually as CPD or as part of a postgraduate qualification.
Continuing professional development (CPD)
We also offer a range of standalone course units within our postgraduate continuing professional development programme.
