Training and events

There are a number of activities you can get involved in as a Public Contributor, from completing training courses to attending events.

Training

We offer training for all Public Contributors, staff and students in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health.

Public Contributor induction session

The Faculty hosts an induction session for both new and existing Public Contributors.

The event is hosted by Dr Stephanie Snow, Academic Lead for Community Engagement and Involvement, and covers all aspects of being a Public Contributor within the Faculty, including presentations from a Public Contributor, researcher, and lecturer.

Public Contributor social media training session (Twitter)

A social media training session focused on Twitter where you can learn how to tweet, what a hashtag is, and best practice when using Twitter. 

University events

Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health Public Contributor celebration event

This event sees staff, students and Public Contributors celebrate the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activities that have taken place within the Faculty.

It includes the Outstanding Contribution to PPIE Awards, which recognise the inspirational and dedicated commitment to PPIE in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. The awards are open to Public Contributors, staff, and students affiliated with the Faculty.
