Training and events
There are a number of activities you can get involved in as a public contributor.
We offer training for all public contributors in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health.
Public contributor induction session
We run induction sessions for both new and existing public contributors up to three times a year.
Public contributor social media training session (Twitter)
A social media training session focused on Twitter. Learn how to tweet, what a hashtag is and best practice when using Twitter.
If you would like to be contacted when dates for either of these sessions become available please contact email@example.com.
Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health public contributor celebration event
This event sees staff, students and public contributors celebrate the patient and public involvement and engagement activities that have taken place within the Faculty.
It includes the Outstanding Contribution to Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Awards, which recognise the inspirational and dedicated commitment to PPIE in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. The awards are open to public contributors, staff, and students affiliated with the Faculty.
In 2019, more than 70 people attended the event. They had the opportunity to explore how wellbeing and PPIE collectively benefit our research and teaching through the theme of 'Celebrate PPIE, Experience Wellbeing'.
You can view a list of the winners for 2019 on the Faculty news blog.
The event takes place annually in July. If you'd like to attend the 2020 celebration event, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
