The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health are delighted to offer a range of four-week summer schools for undergraduate students from across the world.
We are offering four-week summer schools in the following subjects:
- biosciences
- public health
- science communication
The courses will provide you with an experience of the best elements of our research using the innovative, varied and successful teaching approaches from our undergraduate programmes.

Biosciences International Summer School
Explore and develop your research skills within biological and biomedical sciences.

Public Health International Summer School
Work alongside some of our academic and research staff with interests in population health, health services management and primary care.

Science Communication International Summer School
An introduction to the history, contexts, principles and practice of science and health communication.

- Fees: £3,000 (including tuition fees, accommodation and scheduled social events)
- Applications go live: November 2022
- Deadline for application: Sunday 16 April, 2023, 11:59pm (BST)
- Deadline to pay the fees: Monday 15 May 2023

Credits
The International Summer School is worth 10 credits in the UK system. 10 credits is equivalent to 5 ECTS in the European system or 3 credits in the US system.
Please check with your home institution as to whether they would accept the credits for your module(s). If you need any further information, please contact siss@manchester.ac.uk.

Visa information
You will require a visitor visa for this summer school.
Depending on your nationality, you might need to obtain the visitor visa before you travel to the UK or be able to apply for the visitor visa at the airport when you arrive.
