Eligibility and how to apply
To apply for one of our international summer schools, we expect the following:
- You will be 18 or over on the first day of the course;
- You will be a registered undergraduate student at an overseas tertiary institution such as a university or college. Mature students, postgraduates and recent graduates are also welcome to apply.
Academic entry requirements
We require an overall percentage of 55% (British Lower Second Class) from your current undergraduate degree, or an international equivalent.
English language
If English is your second language you will need to provide proof of your English language qualification. This could be one of the following:
- Study at an overseas institution where you are taught in English;
- IELTS overall of 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill;
- English Language IGCSE/GCSE grade C/4;
- India CBSE English Core Grade 12 with 70% overall;
- Advanced Placements (AP) in English Language at Grade 2.
We recognise a wide range of English language qualifications, so don’t worry if yours isn’t listed here. If you’re unsure, please email us at siss@manchester.ac.uk and we’ll be happy to confirm whether your qualification is accepted.
Admissions process
To apply, complete the online application form and email your supporting documents to siss@manchester.ac.uk. There’s no fixed deadline, but places are limited - the programme will close once it reaches capacity.
Visa requirements
Not all students require a visa to enter the UK. You can check your eligibility and find information on which visa you should apply for on the Home Office website.
