Recognition and awards
Whether you are a member of staff or hold an honorary contract with the University, we can support you to evidence excellence in your teaching and learning.
If you deliver outstanding teaching for our students there are a number of ways in which the Academy and University can support you to enhance your career. You can also find out more about academic promotion.
Leadership in Education Awards Programme (LEAP)
LEAP is a free CPD scheme that is open to everyone involved in delivering teaching to our students.
Through LEAP you can evidence your achievements in teaching and learning in order to gain a nationally recognised teaching and learning fellowship.
Every year the Academy honours a number of colleagues across the faculty, NHS and industry who teach on our programmes through our teaching and learning awards.
These awards are open to everyone and are designed to recognise and celebrate the excellent work that people are doing to enhance teaching and learning for our students. The awards include but not limited to:
- assessment and feedback
- academic advising/student support
- interprofessional education
- team awards for teaching and learning.
There are up to eight awards presented annually with four focused on applications from colleagues from the NHS and industry.
In addition to the awards the Academy makes commendations for applications that demonstrate best practice. These awards enable best practice to be identified and effectively shared. By submitting an application for an award or being given an award, you need to agree to make the resources available for others to share.
