Facilities and research environment
Our postgraduate research students benefit from an environment that stimulates and develops interdisciplinary research.
Postgraduate research students across the Faculty are based in a variety of laboratory and clinical environments.
We have a number of purpose-built research complexes, housing modern cutting-edge research facilities.
We also have strong links with the CRUK Manchester Institute and NHS Trusts across the north-west.
All postgraduate research training is fully resourced with the latest equipment and core facilities. Technical expertise is also available to support students in areas such as complex data analysis, computational modelling, bioimaging and electron microscopy.
From the outset, our postgraduate research students are active members of their research groups. You will have opportunities to attend seminars, deliver presentations on your research and contribute to publications.
Within the wider scientific community, our students are provided with the opportunity to attend national and international conferences, and become members of research societies to further public awareness of your outputs.
In addition to research facilities, postgraduate research students at the Faculty can access our Postgraduate Hub facility. Based in Stopford Building in the heart of the University campus, the Hub is a place to meet, socialise and work collaboratively.
