Master of Public Health students from The University of Manchester at the Geneva Winter School 2018

Geneva Winter School

All students on our Master of Public Health (MPH) course have the opportunity to apply to attend the Geneva Winter School in the first week of December 2019.

This is a chance for you to learn from within the institutional architecture of global health governance systems.

By the end of the trip you will have acquired a vast amount of knowledge on global public health, along with inspiration and opportunities for your future career.

You will visit some iconic institutions in Geneva which are at the centre of global health, including:

  • the headquarters of the World Health Organization
  • the Palais des Nations
  • the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent
  • the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

As well as visiting these institutions, students at the inaugural Winter School in December in 2018 (pictured above) also attended presentations by experts on topics such as polio eradication, universal health coverage, non-communicable diseases and humanitarian law.

They were overwhelmingly positive about their experiences, saying that the trip left them feeling very inspired with more of an idea as to the type of work they wish to be involved in.

Applications are now open, please complete the online form by Friday October 18th.
