Overview

This is an intensive 4.5-day course on advanced aspects of Liaison Psychiatry.

It is most suitable for consultants, specialist registrars and registrars. Emphasis is placed upon small group teaching and workshops.

Topics covered by the course include:

  • setting up a liaison psychiatry service in the UK;
  • somatisation;
  • psychological reactions to physical illness;
  • deliberate self-harm;
  • neuropsychiatry;
  • psycho-oncology;
  • medico-legal aspects of liaison psychiatry;
  • management and administrative issue;
  • alcohol problems;
  • pharmacology in the mentally ill;
  • dementia.
