The Structured Assessment of Protective Factors (SAPROF) is a structured professional judgement checklist for violence risk designed to be used in combination with other structured risk assessment tools like the HCR-20.
Our Train the Trainer workshop will enable attendees to train others in use of the SAPROF, whether it is their in-house colleagues or third parties through workshops, subject to agreement with the authors of the SAPROF.
Who should attend?
Our SAPROF course is aimed at mental health practitioners who have already taken basic SAPROF training (such as our one-day SAPROF workshop).
About the trainer
Dr Michael Doyle
Dr Michael Doyle is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Health and Risk Sciences at The University of Manchester. He is also a Deputy Director of Nursing, Governance and Safety at South West Yorkshire Partnership Trust and President of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services.
Having previously worked as Nurse Consultant, specialising in Clinical Risk in Forensic Services, Mike has conducted research and published widely on psychosocial risk assessment, formulation and interventions, forensic mental health nursing and related subjects. He managed the largest study in the UK to date, investigating the reliability and validity of the SAPROF.
