Overview
This masterclass considers up-to-date evidence for optimal mental health delivery in prison settings.
The work is presented within an international context, and is underpinned by international human rights legislation and current thinking regarding health inequalities among prisoners, and particularly those from marginalised groups.
The masterclass considers a number of important areas, including:
- service links with other parts of the criminal justice system;
- reception and second screen arrangements;
- the range of possible interventions;
- the use of multidisciplinary and multi-agency frameworks;
- management upon release from prison.

This event is aimed at clinicians, managers, prison staff and commissioners who are involved in designing or delivering mental health services in prison settings.
