Speech and hearing research at The University of Manchester

Speech and hearing research

We conduct research into a range of topics within speech and hearing, looking for solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in the field today.

Most of our speech and language therapy team are members of the Neuroscience and Aphasia Research Unit and the Language Development and Disorders research group, which includes the ESRC International Centre for Language and Communicative Development (LuCiD), a research collaboration with two other universities.

Our audiology researchers are part of the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness (ManCAD), with expertise in psychophysics, electrophysiology, neuro-imaging, signal processing, medicine, cognitive psychology and genetics.
