Wounds research group
The Wounds research group undertakes high quality research in collaboration with patients, carers and health professionals.
Through our research, we aim to:
- improve understanding of the aetiology, patient experience, outcomes and costs of complex wounds such as leg, foot and pressure ulcers and surgical wounds healing by secondary intention;
- identify clinically and cost-effective interventions for the prevention and treatment of wounds;
- develop, refine and implement appropriate research methods for the study of wounds;
- enable the implementation of effective wound care and study the implementation of wound care research.
