The University of Manchester hosts the editorial bases of three Cochrane Review Groups.
Cochrane Bone, Joint and Muscle Trauma

Each group produces systematic reviews of primary research to guide decision-making in their areas, and publishes these in the Cochrane Library.
Our reviews have resulted in the following successes:
- The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Programme Grant award for developing high priority reviews on hip fracture management.
- Health Technology Assessment report on scale and polish.
- NIHR Programme Grant award for high priority reviews in wound prevention and treatment.
Conservative management following closed reduction of traumatic anterior dislocation of the shoulder.
Surgical versus conservative interventions for treating acromioclavicular dislocation of the shoulder in adults.
Interventions for increasing acceptance of local anaesthetic in children and adolescents having dental treatment.
