Biological sciences research at Manchester

We conduct a wide range of research into the biological sciences at Manchester.

As one of the largest and most successful research and teaching organisations of its kind in Europe, the Faculty has a scientific culture in which there are no traditional barriers between research disciplines.

Our biological sciences research cuts across many of the Faculty's research domains. Shared expertise and the development of new technologies enable important biological problems to be approached using novel and innovative methods.

Many of our research projects have had a real-world impact, such as our work on protein fingerprinting and preserving wildlife.

We also offer excellent postgraduate research opportunities for students looking to start a career as a biological sciences researcher.
